Terms of Service

is-a.stupid.cat provides free *.is-a.stupid.cat subdomains. By requesting, holding, or using a subdomain, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not register a subdomain.

1. Eligibility

• You need a GitHub account to register a subdomain.
• Subdomains are handed out for free, on a first-come, first-served basis.
• You must be able to receive and respond to messages on the GitHub account used to register.

2. What you may not use a subdomain for

Subdomains must not be used for any of the following:

• Commercial or money-making organisations. No company sites, business landing pages, storefronts, paid services, monetised link farms, ad-revenue sites, donation-farming, or anything whose primary purpose is generating revenue. Personal projects, portfolios, hobby sites, and non-commercial community projects are fine.
• Cryptocurrency, NFTs, and Web3 speculation. No crypto exchanges, wallets, token or coin promotion, NFT mints, marketplaces or galleries, mining or mining pools, airdrops, "to the moon" projects, or anything else selling or shilling digital assets.
• Pornography and adult content. No porn sites, adult video or image hosting, escort or sex-work advertising, camming sites, or NSFW content aggregators. This includes proxying or embedding such content from elsewhere.
• Illegal content. Anything unlawful in the United Kingdom, including child sexual abuse material, piracy and copyright-infringing distribution, stolen data, or the sale of controlled goods.
• Abuse and harm. Malware, phishing, scams, command-and-control infrastructure, spam, harassment or doxxing campaigns, or hate speech targeting people for who they are.

Sexual content involving minors, or any sexualisation of minors, results in an immediate permanent ban and, where appropriate, a report to the relevant authorities.

3. Content on your subdomain

You are solely responsible for whatever your subdomain points at, including content served by third parties you use. We do not host your content and we do not review it before it goes live.

4. Enforcement

We may suspend or delete any subdomain, at any time, for any breach of these terms — usually without warning where the breach is serious. Where a fix is reasonable, we may instead ask you to correct the issue within a set period. Repeated or deliberate breaches may result in a permanent ban from the service.

5. No warranty

The service is provided "as is", free of charge, with no guarantee of uptime, availability, or data retention. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from use of, or inability to use, the service. We may change or shut down the service at any time.

6. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continuing to use your subdomain after a change means you accept the updated terms.
